Your Role in the Team

As we expand our team, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a technical acumen to instigate change within our organization. We are looking for team players who thrive in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global environments. This role specifically requires an experienced Instrument Engineer to support our Product Solutions or Upstream facilities on a global scale. You will collaborate with our engineering team to offer technical expertise and insights focusing on fleet management, asset enhancement, project assistance, and technology adoption.

This position will be based at Menara ExxonMobil in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct global fleet assessments and leverage analytics to provide actionable recommendations
  • Participate in all stages of capital projects, such as HAZOP reviews, SIL assessment, detailed engineering, and equipment strategy development
  • Lead long-term initiatives for enhancing global instrument fleets
  • Devise engineering solutions to address and resolve issues across ExxonMobil's operational units
  • Offer engineering support through cross-functional or discipline-related tasks
  • Provide necessary technical training in Instrumentation when required
  • Utilize relevant Company processes, systems, and standards in daily tasks
Your Profile

Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Possess 5 to 15 years of pertinent engineering experience in the Upstream, Downstream, or EPC sectors
  • Familiarity with Industry Instrumentation standards (ISA, API, IEC, etc.)
  • Proficient in Field Instrumentation concerning Flow, Pressure, Level, Temperature, and Control valve sizing
  • Expertise in Safety System Design, including SIL calculation abilities and knowledge of IEC 61511
  • Specialized support for PLC/TMR-based systems, encompassing Turbo Machinery Controls and Equipment Health Monitoring Systems for Rotating Equipment
  • Experience in plant startups, Turnaround Support, Project Construction, and Commissioning
  • Adept at conducting Risk Assessment Analysis
  • Desire and interest in becoming a long-term technical expert
  • Possess a strong commitment to safety
  • Self-motivated, capable team player keen on offering customer-centric support to projects and sites
  • Skilled in mentoring team members and showcasing leadership qualities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Willingness to engage in travel when necessary
