Key Responsibilities:

A. Corporate Tax Compliance for the Group

Prepare and review tax calculations for business units (SBUs) to ensure timely submission of annual tax returns to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).Assess the tax implications of new Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and guide SBUs on required tax adjustments.Evaluate the adequacy of annual and quarterly tax estimates.Review year-end tax computations of SBUs to ensure sufficient provision for tax liabilities.Oversee the submission of withholding tax returns to the IRB in a timely manner. B. Tax Planning and Advisory for the Group Provide advice to SBUs on the appropriate tax treatment for transactions to maximize tax benefits.Guide SBUs on leveraging available tax incentives and benefits from government packages.Assist SBUs in meeting the criteria for tax incentives and support the implementation process.Monitor and implement tax planning proposals efficiently. C. Group Tax Audit & Investigations Assist SBUs in preparing documentation and information for tax audits.Liaise with the IRB during tax audits and respond to their inquiries until the audit is concluded.Aid in compiling, organizing, and verifying information for tax investigations.Review and comment on responses to the IRB to ensure factual accuracy and appropriate disclosures.Maintain a chronological record of events related to tax investigations for the Group.Support SBUs in submitting consistent and accurate responses to IRB queries. D. Tax Administration – Compliance with Statutory and Regulatory Requirements Communicate new tax laws, rulings, and regulations to SBUs, ensuring compliance across the Group.Identify and assess annual budget proposals that may affect the Group, providing support for compliance.Standardize the tax treatment of transactions within the Group. E. Tax Payments, Refunds, and Group Tax Status Monitoring Review and monitor monthly tax instalment payments and outstanding tax liabilities of SBUs.Assist in applying for tax refunds and credit offsets on behalf of the Group.Advise and assist with deferring tax payments to manage cash flow.Help in applying for penalty waivers and follow up on approvals.Periodically update and track the Group's overall tax position.
