The Senior Buyer for Indirect Materials plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless procurement and management of non-production materials and services essential to the semiconductor manufacturing process. This role requires a strategic thinker with in-depth industry knowledge and exceptional negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships, optimize procurement processes, and contribute to cost savings and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sourcing indirect materials within the semiconductor industry and will be adept at working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect materials including, but not limited to, office supplies, MRO items, IT equipment, and facilities management services.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal value and compliance with company policies.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, delivery, and service. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as Finance, Operations, and Engineering to support their needs with effective procurement solutions.
- Performance Tracking: Develop and maintain metrics to evaluate supplier performance and procurement effectiveness. Provide regular reports and analysis to management.
- Cost Management: Monitor and analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost-reduction strategies while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procurement guidelines, and industry regulations according to QMS and EMS requirements. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and decisions.
