• Function as a Level 3 SME to troubleshoot and resolve storage and backup infrastructure issues, including system failures, performance problems, software errors, and security breaches. Take ownership of issues through to resolution, working independently or collaboratively with IT teams, vendors, and end-users as needed. Provide on-call incident support and be flexible for 24x7 standby coverage.


• Serve as a technical escalation point and SME for the company's storage and backup environment, providing leadership, mentorship, and sharing knowledge on tools, technologies, and best practices for the entire solution lifecycle, including development, deployment, and maintenance.


• Analyze environments to provide recommendations on security, performance, capacity, and compliance. Lead efforts to assess, optimize, and monitor enterprise storage and backup infrastructure, advising stakeholders on improvements to enhance stability and availability.


• Develop, maintain, and enforce documented standards, policies, procedures, inventory, and methodologies to ensure operational support excellence and increased efficiency of the storage and backup infrastructure.


• Build, maintain, and manage technical leads from Managed Service Providers (MSP) with the capability to resolve complex issues across multiple storage and backup technology landscapes.


• Collaborate with peers to refine the operational support and improvement strategy, evaluating existing systems and processes, and identifying design gaps or risks.


• Lead and drive technology lifecycle management, upgrades, disaster recovery exercises, backup and recovery operations, incident response planning, and problem resolution management.


• Oversee MSP service level agreements, managing resources to ensure system availability and capacity for growth.


• Assist in IT change management, including ticket reviews, approvals, and planning.

Work Experience


• Over 10 years of robust IT experience in Storage and Backup technologies, supporting multiple platforms, with more than 7 years dedicated to multi-tier enterprise storage systems, including design, installation, migration, virtualization, management, monitoring, performance analysis, and reporting.


• Candidates must have "hands-on" SME-level experience with enterprise-class backup technologies and critical SAN & NAS environments. Proficiency in Storage systems such as Dell EMC VMAX & VNX, IBM DS8000 & Storwize, Pure Storage, NetApp, and Backup technologies like Dell EMC Networker, Data Domain, Veeam, and Azure Backup is strongly preferred.


• A minimum of 7 years of field storage administration experience in an enterprise production environment, including SAN, NAS, and DAS topology knowledge, as well as database and data center infrastructure.


• Proven ability to manage large storage solutions supporting critical business systems is essential.


• Expert, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and integrating EMC SAN, NetApp FAS, and associated backup products is mandatory.


• Strong hands-on experience with Veeam and Azure Backup.


• Expertise in LAN-free/SAN-based backups, with substantial experience in capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization.


• Solid working knowledge of Fibre Channel configurations in storage hardware (HBAs), fibre channel SAN switches like
• Brocade/Cisco Director switches, including multipath configuration.


• Expertise in Data Replication, Deduplication, and Snapshot technologies.


• Extensive experience in troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving backup failures for applications, OS, databases, and libraries.
