The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization. You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner and providing regular financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Management and Reporting

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of financial models, budgeting, forecasting, and planning to ensure alignment with both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Monitor actual results against budgets, analyze variances, and prepare insightful reports to guide decision-making.

Audit, Taxation, Internal Controls & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process with external auditors, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and withholding tax.
  • Establish, document, and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Stay updated on local tax laws and regulations, providing guidance on tax compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including tax filings and financial audits.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and investment opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cash flow strategies, optimizing the use of cash reserves and minimizing financing costs.
  • Oversee bank relationships, credit facilities, and other financing arrangements.

Cost Control & Optimization:

  • Develop and implement cost management strategies to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring expenses align with financial goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to boost profit margins.
  • Collaborate with various departments to manage and monitor expenditures effectively.

Accounting Operations Management:

  • Manage the accounting operations, including account payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
  • Handle invoicing and collection of outstanding invoices, identify collection issues, and implement strategies to improve collections and reduce overdue payments.
  • Implement best practices in accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Strategy and Business Partnering:

  • Work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for key business decisions, investments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, contributing to financial planning, risk management, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure necessary funding.
  • Negotiate favourable terms for business operations, oversee loan arrangements and renewals, and ensure compliance with banking covenants.

Systems & Processes:

  • Enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in all financial operations.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools and automation in financial reporting and analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in accounting and financial management is required.
  • Strong knowledge of MFRS, costing, budgeting, taxation and internal control.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in Public Listed companies is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in financial software (SQL, AutoCount & etc) and Microsoft Office.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strategic mindset.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team with strong commitment to department/company harmony.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet job demands effectively.
