Purpose of the Role
The Business Head for Southeast Asia (SEA) will be responsible for driving regional business growth, ensuring profitability, and building a dominant market position across this region. The role encompasses strategic leadership, P&L management, risk mitigation, ensuring legal & statutory compliance, and fostering innovation to meet annual and long-term business objectives. The role holder will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure SEA achieves the targets on sales, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Outcome Expectations from the Role
Increase Market Share
Development and execution of an impactful 'Go to Market (GTM)' strategy for SEA region. Build an effective organization and management team for each of the verticals.
Preferred Brand and Industry Presence
- Lead a calendarized program for meeting the competitors and major distributors of competitors.
- Leverage partnerships to drive growth of market share in identified geographies in line with long term strategy for SEA.
Operational Excellence
- Define strong review mechanisms by deploying scalable and cost-efficient frameworks to achieve sales and operating margin targets.
- Direct the team to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
Insights on Competitive Landscape
- Establish systems for competitor analysis, demand estimation, and market insights. Guide the team to conduct data-driven market analysis for setting realistic goals.
- Establish targets based on global benchmarks.
Financial Management
- Establish rigorous budgeting and accountability systems to track financial performance. Implement value and solution selling strategies to optimize profitability at a product level.
People Management
- Nurture, motivate, guide, and develop the team for present and future needs.
Legal & Statutory Compliance
- Meet all legal and statutory requirements in the regions where the company is operating.
- Timely update the respective stakeholders on changes/amendments in any legal and statutory aspects. Engage external consultants as per the requirement when needed.
Desired Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & MBA in Sales & Marketing/Strategy/Finance.
- Relevant experience in sales and business development within this region, preferably in the Capital Equipment Industry, out of which at least ten years must be in lead managerial/leadership positions.
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence and revenue growth.
- Experience in handling sales and operations across multiple countries in the SEA Region.
