ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a VP of Infrastructure and Operations responsible for managing, optimizing, and delivering all Xsolla infrastructure that runs Xsolla SaaS services. These services enable all of Xsolla's business capabilities and solutions. This includes ensuring the resiliency, availability, efficiency, security, and scalability of all hosting environments, global networks, compute services, and storage devices. In addition, building the necessary SRE, DevOps, and database management functions to support the growth of the business and solutions.

As a key member of the leadership team, this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy that delivers business value. This includes modernizing the Infrastructure and formalizing a rigorous technology lifecycle management program, improving the robustness and reliability of network services across many sites worldwide, and leveraging private and public cloud services and innovative technology solutions. This role will also define and implement the operating/staffing model and outcome-based service level agreements with managed service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Sets the mission, vision, and strategy for the Infrastructure and Operations function, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology objectives.
  2. Develops and oversees the budget, including planning/forecast accuracy & continuous cost-optimization.
  3. Manage private and hybrid cloud environments, including networks, servers, and storage.
  4. Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations, including system monitoring, performance tuning, and incident/change management to ensure high service availability and problem management to prevent high-impact incidents from recurring.
  5. Implement and enforce security policies to protect infrastructure from threats and ensure infrastructure adheres to and complies with corporate cybersecurity policies and relevant regulatory, data classification/privacy, and industry standards.
  6. Monitor and report on system performance, availability, and reliability issues and develop, maintain, and regularly test backup and recovery plans to ensure they work when needed.
  7. Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to fully exploit & ensure service delivery aligned with contractual obligations and perform technology lifecycle management to optimize, future-proof, and eliminate technical debt of key infrastructure assets.
  8. Lead and coach the Infrastructure and Operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  9. Foster continuous improvement and professional development to keep up with technological advancements and help them achieve their career aspirations.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate an infrastructure vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the Technology and business strategy.
  2. Effective influencing and negotiation skills in complex environments where resources required for success may not be in direct control of this role.
  3. Experience in evangelizing and implementing transformational initiatives where the target state included agile, DevOps, SRE, and private and public cloud adoption at scale.
  4. Ability to consolidate operations capabilities in large, complex enterprise organizations to improve efficiency while balancing customer preferences for agility.
  5. Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
  6. Capacity to develop creative solutions and improvements for existing systems and processes, leveraging a deep understanding of engineering principles.
  7. Self-starter who self-assesses and solicits feedback from others to improve their performance.
  8. Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
  9. Experience in developing staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  10. Maximizing the effectiveness of nearshore/offshore resource models.
  11. Experience in building cloud management solutions, including software development, integration, and ongoing engineering aspects.
  12. Creating self-service mechanisms to streamline infrastructure provisioning and ongoing management.
  13. Establishing and improving DevOps and other working practices (e.g., ITIL).
  14. Developing governance practices to track and measure the quality of services, and maintain service improvement plans.
  15. Experience in third-party management, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree/ Masters in computer science or related field.
  2. Minimum 10 years of commercial software infrastructure management.
  3. Hands-on working experience in the SRE and DevOps environment.
  4. Experience utilizing AI to automate CI/CD, monitoring and alerting.
  5. Strong experience in private cloud establishment and management.
  6. Global infrastructure management experience.
  7. Strong experience in scaling operations.
