Job Purpose

Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients/agents as well as developing a new pipeline of business within the APAC region.

To help develop and execute strategic country business plans consistent with the budget and medium-term business plan delivering a pipeline of profitable business in the short, medium, and long term.

The Senior Sales and Tendering Engineer of LAP is responsible for the management of all sales activities of Lucy Electric in the country and building relationships with clients including Utilities, local key partners, and other stakeholders.

The Senior Sales and Tendering Engineer operates in a competitive environment and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions to customers. This role requires planning, strong teamwork, and excellent communication skills to succeed in dynamic market conditions.

Job Dimensions

Reports to: Sales Director

Direct Reports: Internal Sales Support (admin)

Collaborates with: Marketing in APAC, Engineering, Finance, Sales LEA and Sales LET,

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

  • Executes the most profitable strategy per country for this activity in the area.
  • Owns and directs long-term customer relationships/partnerships and is fully responsible for customer satisfaction through executing the sales process.
  • Seeks out, qualifies, and closes large & more complex new sales opportunities, with a specific focus on new business growth.
  • Responsible for all market surveys and visits to customers regularly.
  • Helps establish the yearly budget.
  • Monitors proactively competition and sets up price comparisons of core products.
  • Creates competitive, high-quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefits analysis.
  • Validates and coordinates price lists for the area.
  • Liaises with the Marketing communication department regarding communication and sales promotions.
  • Maintains strong relationships with existing clients.

Secondary activities / tasks

  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed to establish and manage the Lucy LST sales team.
  • To undertake business travel abroad or within Malaysia as and when required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Electrical Engineer, minimum 3 years of experience in Power distribution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Malay.
  • Excellent communication skills for follow-ups with clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to cope and be flexible under daily pressure and multi-task.
  • Passion for customer service.

  • Ability to think strategically in a competitive, global environment.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results.
  • Several years of experience in sales in a similar industry for the Malaysia market.
  • Technical knowledge in relevant areas, such as electrical or mechanical.
  • Familiar with utility systems, especially TNB/SEB/SESB.
