  • Production and delivery of internal management accounts for the management, company directors, local & foreign shareholders.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/annually financial reporting package in accordance with MFRS and Generali Group Accounting Policies.
  • Responsible for preparing submission of SST (bi-monthly basis), E-invoicing (monthly basis), income tax return (annual basis) and all the tax-related submission i.e transfer pricing, CP204A returns and FATCA.

Responsibilities:

1. Management Reporting

Compile financial information in an efficient, timely, transparent and accurate manner to local shareholder, Affin Bank Berhad / Generali Malaysia Holding Berhad:

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
  • Analysis of financial results and providing commentaries on variances.

2. Regional Reporting

Preparation and timely submission of monthly/quarterly/annually financial reporting package in accordance with MFRS and Generali Group Accounting Policies. Upload data into Group Reporting system (Tagetik) according to stipulated timelines by group finance.

3. Tax reporting

Support in preparation of the company tax reporting, which includes provision of corporate tax, deferred tax and submission of Tax form as per LHDN timeline on timely manner:

  • Compute monthly tax and deferred tax provision in order to facilitate month-end closing.
  • Compile and file bi-monthly Sales & Service Tax report and E-invoicing (monthly) to Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
  • Ensure proper documentation of SST working and preparation of journals.
  • Furnish information and details on nature of income and expenses to Tax consultant during yearly tax submission.
  • Assist in the initial estimate of tax payable ("ETP") and revision of tax instalment.
  • Coordinate and compile information for Tax remission submission.

4. Intercompany Charges

Responsible for validating & reporting any intercompany charges (related party invoices):

  • Liaise closely with regional offices on the intercompany invoices and to ensure services provided are permitted under local BNM regulations/guidelines.
  • In charge of regional charges journal entries and monthly forex exchange rate differences journals.
  • Validation of intercompany charges to be tabled to Board for approval before proceeds for settlement.
  • Coordinating the annual transfer pricing documentation with External Tax Consultant to meet LHDN's requirement.
  • Assist in preparation of Financial Statement's disclosure notes on related party transactions.

5. Daily Cash Management & Investment linked unit pricing

Support the daily cash management & investment linked activities (Rotation):

  • Ensure timely & preparation of Investment linked NAV computation and unit price publication on the company website.
  • Preparation of company daily cashflow, ensure daily cash is sufficient to meet the insurance & non-insurance payment, as well as company's investment obligation.
  • Execution of Bond trades for company Life fund, as instructed by investment department.

6. Others

  • Attend to any ad hoc reporting, queries and/or analysis as and when requested by Affin Bank, local regulator and internal stakeholders (i.e. actuarial, risk & investment).
  • Assist in handling audit (internal/external) request.
  • Assist and support in data gathering for LHDN tax audit.

Requirements:

  • Preferably has a degree in Accounting/Finance, while a professional certification (e.g., ACCA, MIA) or relevant technical qualifications are desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Insurance/Financial Industry, particularly in Finance function.
  • Good knowledge on Management Reporting and Tax Reporting.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Business acumen with problem-solving skills.
