Through a period of training and on the job learning, learns how to prepare, review and report accurate
project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.
Under continuous, close supervision and with support and guidance, learns how to assist in the preparation
and submission of project schedules and plans, ensuring schedules and plans are prepared to the required
level of detail and
- Carries out basic tasks to support the maintenance of planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Support the maintenance of baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
- Assist with monitoring and controlling planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle.
- Develops an understanding of the roles of engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, their project activities and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
- Support preparation of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Support preparation of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Support preparation of updates to project plans and schedules
- Develops an understanding of the role of the cost discipline and the interface with scheduling to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets.
- Project plans and schedules are issued in accordance with contract reporting calendar and on an as required basis.
- All project schedules are fully logic linked and show the critical path and total float for all activities.
- The project schedule is baselined at the time of approval by the client of funding for the project.
- All project schedules contain resources in accordance with the corporate standards.
- Work packs delivery milestones are clearly identified within the project schedules.
- A standard set of agreed milestones are maintained within both the schedule and the cost reporting database.
- Typically requires qualifications to ISCED level 3 (Upper Secondary) with good level of attainment in mathematic.
- Good level of general computer skills.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques
- Logical and analytical thinker.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills both written and oral.
- Uses initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
