Global Merchant Services (GMS) has an excellent opportunity available for an Outbound Merchant Specialist role for Centralized Merchant Team (CMT) for Australia Market. American Express Global Merchant Services manages all aspects of our vitally important merchant relationships. Within this department is the Small Merchant APAC team, which is responsible for delivering a vibrant network by acquiring and retaining more card accepting small merchants and continuing to improve their satisfaction. Adding more Amex accepting merchants to our network is one of the key priorities of GMS and with an aim to drive a superior on-boarding experience.

**How will you make an impact in this role?**

We are an outbound based team that manages all aspects of our vitally important merchant relationships, along with cross selling products and services that add value to our customers. An exciting and varied opportunity is now available for highly ambitious achievers to engage with American Express merchants based in **Australia** by building relationships through high value and impactful conversations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To make outbound calls in English to an existing base of American Express small business merchants in Australia, supporting ongoing marketing campaigns, promoting card acceptance and increase merchant activation.
- Maintaining relationships with either new or existing Merchants of American Express in a consultative approach.
- Ability to match products to customer needs.
- Innovative and creative approach towards calls
- Strong relationship building and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate creatively on Value Story through use of quantitative data and analysis, Self-motivator with a strong work ethic.
- Great team player with a passion to exceed personal targets.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Advanced English - both verbal and written, Cantonese and/or Mandarin highly desirable
- Strong people serve people experience with a clear understanding of what excellence means'.
- Assertiveness to handle difficult conversations.
- Malaysian Citizen or a Talent Pass - Residence holder
- Full internet access at home in case of a Covid-19 or similar government announced lockdown.
