**Job Summary**

**What is the opportunity?**

The role is part of BCS (Business Client Services) EMEA that supports pre and post trade deal processing for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and its clients.

You will ensure that trades are captured, matched for settlement, funded and reconciled, and cover post trade processes as well.

The operations role is a first line of defence to trading businesses, ensures accurate books and records are maintained whilst providing a seamless client experience.

**What will you do?**
- Pre-confirm /verify all OTC Derivative deliverables with external counterparties
- Control and maintain pre-confirmation projection spreadsheet
- Daily manage IRIS exception/release queues ensuring all items are resolved within currency funding cut-off and within settlement payment lead time
- Accurately input RIMMS GL accounting
- Rate publishing release for Fixed Income Derivative products
- Ensure monthly settlement and reapportioning of Rates and CDS clearing brokerage ensuring reconciliation is completed prior to month end
- Assist with other duties as assigned by Manager in periods of absence
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies from the Infinity/RIMMS outstanding report
- Investigate of all CLS breaks 901 accounting reconciliation control
- Monitor/review settlement exceptions
- Ensure all Clearing house margin payments are accurately reconciled and verified
- Ensure all daily balance sheet / cash and trade economic reconciliations are accurately completed for both Credit and Rates by providing SOX approval to senior management
- Ensure daily controls/procedures and standing orders are maintained
- Keep human error and operational costs to a minimum/nil.

**What you need to succeed?**
- Degree level education or similar
- Robust experience within Operations/Client Services with exposure to both Credit and Fixed Rate Derivatives
- Strong settlement and cash/funding management experience
- Excel VBA literate beneficial
- Good knowledge of Derivative products and processes
- Good knowledge of market infrastructure such as Settlement Agents, Nostro Agents and Clearing Houses
- The ability to perform analysis of business processes and implement change as appropriate
- Must possess a high degree of PC literacy and experience, including word and excel
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure against unmovable deadlines
- Builds strong working relationships with colleagues to leverage knowledge and expertise.
