- Owns the technology relationships up to CxO level & provides technology thought leadership across Enterprise Accounts.
- Leads the solutions development and architecture framework, methodology and approach in an engagement.
- Produces critical architecture work products to communicate the solution and vision with clarity with the customer.
- Be an expert at navigating technical engagements with customers, partners and internal teams.
- Builds relationships with, and earns deep trust of the account team, partners and customers in support of country business objectives.
Participates in country leadership decisions and takes the lead in shaping technical engagements.
- Participates in mentoring junior members of the Solutions Engineering team.
- Build and share architecture practices, frameworks and content with the Solution Engineering community.

**The Work: What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis**
In this role, you are placed in a driver's seat with full autonomy to shape and accelerate our customers' technology adoption. As a VMware Solution Architect:

- You will be engaging with C-Level, C-Level-1 to understand their business requirements.
- You will need to be knowledgeable and be seen as a thought leader.
- You will need to be articulate and be able to communicate with C-Level and C-Level-1 to influence their thought process to adopt a VMware technology.
- You will need to be able to translate business requirements into implementable future state architecture design.
- You will be engaging with Enterprise Architects and various technical leads to understand the current state architecture and spar with the EA when you present the proposed future state architecture design.
- You willneed to have the technical experience and depth to defend your design and provide reasons why your design is best.
- You will need to have knowledge and experience in industry's best practice and governance standards for your country such as Government regulations, FSI standards, etc.
- You have expert technology certifications in at least 1 VMware technology or equivalent.
- You also have exceptional domain knowledge and experience in one or more of advanced technologies like cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, cybersecurity, digital capabilities, analytics, AI/ML, BigData.
- You have working knowledge of an architecture framework - TOGAF, Zachman Framework. You understand the thought processes in architecture development.

**What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team like**
This role will be reporting to the Head of Solution Architect, who leads the Solution Architect Team for Southeast Asia and Korea (SEAK). The head of SA is a veteran in the IT industry and is still heavily involved in customers' engagements. He has a secondary role as Head of VMware Briefing Center (VBC) where he curates agenda for customers attending the VBC.

The Solution Architect team is a very lean team with one architect in each country supporting the account teams and the Solution Engineers. Some countries such as Philippines do not a Solution Architect and we will be required to support countries that do not a SA. The Solution Architect team consists of the most experience IT practitioners in their country with many of them having 20+ years of experience. The team structure is flat and reports directly to the Head of Solution. As the team is made of the most experience engineers, you will have the autonomy to work directly with the Country Sales Leader and to grow your country's business. Each SA is expert in their field, for example, Government, Security, Cloud, Telco, FSI. However, since no one is expert in all areas, the SAs will support each other in opportunities which require expertise in the areas of their strength.

**Where is this role located**
This role is located in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. You have the flexibility to work remotely unless customers require face to face meetings or you are required to return back to the office.
