Communicate inspection status and identify deficiencies to the applicable QC Supervisor & QA Manager.
- Document inspections on a daily basis.
- Understanding mechanical drawing for fabrication process.
- Understanding to quality inspection process - in-coming,in-process & outgoing.
- Understand and interpret ASME and AWS codes, specifications and customer requirements.
- Verify compliance with quality assurance procedures, codes and customer specifications.
- Verify material marking requirements. Understand material contamination issues for steel materials.
- Verify correct filler wire for the materials and processes being used.
- Perform NDE inspection methods such as Positive Material Identification and Hardness Testing.
- Inspect welding and some dimensional and metal fabricated components.
- Inspect GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and SAW welding processes.
- Understand weld symbols.
- Schedule authorized inspector (AI) for required inspections and complete sign-off of weld travelers.
- Assist in measuring equipment calibration as directed by the QC Supervisor or QA Manager.
