**Job Description: Bar Manager**

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Bar Manager to join our cocktail bar and oversee the operations of our bar and bistro section, in addition to handling administrative matters. As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing a team of kitchen and service staff, and maintaining high food quality standards. Alongside these responsibilities, you will also be expected to handle administrative tasks related to inventory management, budgeting, staff scheduling, and maintaining compliance with regulations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, culinary expertise, and a passion for hospitality.

**Responsibilities**:
**1)** **Operations Management**:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bistro section, ensuring smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Create and maintain a welcoming and comfortable ambiance, ensuring a memorable dining experience for guests.
- Train and supervise kitchen and service staff, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with the bar manager to ensure seamless coordination between the bar and bistro sections.

**2)** **Menu Development and Food Quality**:

- Develop and update the bistro menu, considering current culinary trends, customer preferences, and seasonality.
- Source high-quality ingredients and ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, following local health regulations and best practices.
- Monitor customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to enhance the dining experience.

**3)** **Inventory and Supply Management**:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
- Place orders with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to minimize waste, control costs, and optimize stock levels.
- Stay updated with new food and beverage trends and suggest additions or changes to the bistro menu.

**4)** **Financial Management and Reporting**:

- Develop and manage the bistro's budget, including revenue targets and cost control measures.
- Monitor sales and expenses, analyse financial data, and prepare regular reports for management.
- Implement strategies to increase profitability while maintaining high food quality standards.
- Conduct regular pricing analysis to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.

**5)** **Staff Training and Development**:

- Recruit, hire, train, and motivate a skilled team of kitchen and service staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance staff performance and professional growth.
- Conduct regular training sessions to educate staff on new menu items, culinary techniques, and service standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee satisfaction.

**6)** **Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Handle any customer concerns or incidents promptly and professionally.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Bistro Manager or in a similar leadership role within a cocktail bar or restaurant.
- Strong culinary background with a solid understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, staff, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in bistro-related software and technology for inventory management and reporting.
- Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification in food safety and knowledge of local food and safety regulations is preferred.

Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month

License/Certification:

- Driver's License (preferred)
