**JOB** TITLE: LEGAL MANAGER**
**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
Support the Head of Legal & Compliance by developing and implementing legal methodologies, plans and strategies to support the business goals and strategies.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Providing proactive, high quality legal support and advice to the organization in an effective and timely manner.
- Delivering work according to plan and having contingency plans to deliver required output.
- Involved in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts with contractors, co-venturers and with PETRONAS in all aspects of the company’s business and operations.
- Advising the business to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
- Effectively managing and monitoring all litigation / disputes.
- Communicates across functions and actively participates in the spread of knowledge, best practice and awareness of legal commitments and initiatives through the business.
- Facilitate the external company secretaries on corporate secretarial matters.
- Coordinating the Management Committee Meeting with the PM304 Partners and managing all relevant processes required thereto (for e.g., arranging for a meeting, preparing minutes, drafting letters, etc.) as and when required.
- Supports the Head of Legal & Compliance by providing strategic and proactive legal advice in the management of contracts and the resolution of commercial, legal and compliance related disputes issues.
**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:
- A Malaysian lawyer with a degree in law and called to the Malaysian Bar.
- At least 8 years post qualification experience with a minimum of 3 years in the oil and gas industry.
- A confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills
- Team players possess sound interactive skills with demonstrated ability to contribute and deliver in a multidisciplinary team as well as being able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to take initiative/lead to understand the company’s business.
- Problem solving skills to achieve business objectives within applicable constraints.
- Analytical skills with the ability to think outside the box.
- Fluent in spoken Bahasa Malaysia & English
- Proactive, action and result oriented behaviour.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of the organization
