As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating the adoption and implementation of Agile principles and practices across our organization. Your role will involve guiding and supporting cross
- functional teams to ensure successful project delivery through effective Scrum methodologies. You’ll have a strong understanding of Agile frameworks, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
**Responsibilities**:
**Impact on Strategy**
- Collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders to define and prioritise product backlogs, ensuring they are well-groomed and ready for the development team.
- Foster a culture of transparency, trust, and accountability within the team and across the organization, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
- Guide teams to identify and remove any impediments or blockers that may prevent them from achieving their sprint goals, escalating issues when necessary and facilitating resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging Agile methodologies, proactively recommending and implementing process improvements where applicable.
**Leadership and Management**
- Act as a servant leader and coach for one or more Agile teams, promoting the adoption of Agile principles, values, and practices.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies as needed, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, focused, and time-bound.
- Assist the team in breaking down complex tasks into actionable user stories, estimating effort, and establishing realistic sprint commitments.
- Monitor and track team progress, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders on project status, risks, and dependencies.
- Continuously assess team dynamics and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimise team productivity and efficiency.
- Coach and mentor team members on Agile practices, encouraging self-organisation, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning.
- Any other duties that may be required by your Manager or the Company, providing you have been adequately trained to execute them. These duties may be required from time to time or on a permanent basis.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, leading Agile development teams in software or product development projects.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve problems effectively, displaying a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with Agile tools and software development practices, such as Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to guide discussions, mediate conflicts, and drive consensus among team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and team members.
- Adept at identifying and resolving issues, mitigating risks, and proactively anticipating project challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience with data analytics and metrics tracking desirable.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is highly desirable.
- Passion for Agile methodologies and a drive to create a culture of agility, innovation, and quality.
