**Job Summary**:
As a Books & Magazines Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their book-related needs, maintaining the organization and presentation of the book section, and contributing to the overall customer experience in the bookstore.

**Responsibilities**:
**Customer Assistance**
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in finding books, offerings, and recommendations.
- Responds promptly and courteously to customer requests, maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor.

**Inventory Management**
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming book shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of book inventory levels.
- Monitor and reorder books as needed to ensure a well-stocked and diverse selection.
- Efficiently and accurately manage stock acceptance and returns processes for books and magazines in the store.

**Visual Merchandising**
- Arrange and display books in an appealing and organized manner to attract customers.
- Create eye-catching book displays to promote featured titles or themes.
- Uphold high standards of display and visual merchandising, in alignment with planograms for books and magazines.

**Book Section Maintenance**
- Execute efficient stock replenishment for books and magazines while maintaining store tidiness, organized, and properly labelled.
- Perform regular shelf-checks to identify misplaced or misshelved books.
- Collaborate with team members to rearrange the book section for optimal customer flow.

**Knowledge and Trends**
- Stay informed about current book releases, popular authors, and literary trends.
- Be prepared to offer informed recommendations to customers based on their preferences.
- Demonstrate excellent books and magazines knowledge to customers highlighting key promotions and offers for books and magazines.

**Administrative Tasks**
- Maintain accurate records of book sales, returns, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

**Job Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in literature, library science, or a related field is a plus.
- **Preferred experience acquired within a books retail environment**.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge and passion for books and literature.
- Organizational skills with the ability to maintain a well-ordered book section.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong teamwork skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Confident in maximizing sales opportunities.
- Detail-oriented mindset for precise stock management and store presentation.
- Able to work shift hours, weekends & public holidays.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Malaysia.
- Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in Chinese is an added advantage.

**Schedule**:

- 5 Working Days
- Rotational Shift

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
