The GL & FP&A Accountant EMEA role will be responsible for performing general accounting related activities such as month end closing processes, other ad-hoc deliverables as per business requirement. Additional responsibilities will include FP&A related activities such as preparing strategic plans, budgeting and periodic forecasting, preparing performance reports and carrying out analyses as per business requirement in EMEA. Additional responsibilities entail improvement and follow up of the KL SSC’s KPI’s applicable to the general accounting and FP&A areas and ensuring a high level of accuracy in delivery.

**Core Responsibilities**:
General Accounting
Prepare journal entries and ensure correct accounting entries have been posted to the system with accurate numbers per supporting documents with correct account codes as per the guidelines.
Work on SAP accounting modules like FA module, Cost module, Inventory module, SAP BPC, Cadency Reconciliation to ensure all financial numbers are input correctly and management reporting is accurate.
Prepare bank reconciliation statements by comparing bank statements against ledger transactions.
Prepare account reconciliations including bank reconciliation. Manage reconciliation open items within deadlines as per the standard defined by the organization.
Chart of accounts management, review request from business teams to allocate existing CoA or initiate request for new based on the requirement.
Collaborate with the on-site cost accountants to carry out costing activities such as Cost runs, CO Close, run COPA assessment cycles, and inventory revaluation.
Provide support to the business in identifying inventory eligible for write off as per Ingredion policy.
Provide able support to the onsite cost accountants to work on ad-hoc costing analyses as per business requirement
Provide supporting data and documents during audit and statutory reporting like external audit, internal audit, SOX audit, statutory audit and tax audit.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Work closely with the onsite EMEA FP&A counterparts to prepare long range plans, annual goal and periodic forecasts
Carry out periodic business analyses as per requirement and provide business with performance insights
Carry out periodic performance reporting (Monthly, Quarterly) in close collaboration with the onsite FP&A counterpart
Fulfill ad-hoc reporting and analysis requirements from the EMEA Leadership team
Organize stand up meetings to provide regular progress updates to the SSC leadership, onsite counterparts and EMEA leadership teams
Undertake regular training to upskill basis business requirements and mentor potential new team members in the future
Carry out checks of accuracy, completeness and inform the onsite counterpart of any deficiencies

A diploma/bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
3-5 years of work experience in General Accounting
Able to communicate in English and German (preferably, as this role requires support for EMEA)
Able to work on EMEA hours (1pm - 10pm)

**Desirable requirements**:
Experience in manufacturing companies
Good understanding of cost accounting processes is a plus

**Required behaviors and skills**:
Self-motivated, detail oriented and analytical mindset with stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work in a team environment, build consensus and foster positive relationships.
Knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience in SAP would be an added advantage.
