**OVERVIEW**
1. Lead wellness program and oversee health promotion as a whole for the company. This shall be achieved by designing a suitable wellness program, implementation, monitoring and providing health support. The program shall cover modifiable and non-modifiable disease prevention. The vision is to achieve optimum health and wellbeing of the workers (physically and mentally).
2. Accountable to manage Occupational Health program for the company. This role includes to oversee the whole the implementation of Occupational Health program as well as development of new policy/procedure, updating, conduct assurance program and implement improvement plan as per legal and company requirements
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Occupational Health (OH) dashboard focal and prepare periodic reports to Management on proactive and reactive health and wellness metrics
- Establish, review and update Health & Wellness related policies and procedures in collaboration with Medical Officers and ensure effective execution e.g, Medical Emergency Response Procedure, Hepatitis & AIDS.
- Work closely with Medical Officers on overall OH management and wellness planning that shall also cover medical surveillance Program, development of new health manuals i.e., medical Emergency Response Tiering system, notification to local legislation i.e., DOSH
- Provide continuous advice to the company on pandemic management taking reference from MOH and WHO guideline (e.g Covid 19) and perform role as Secretary to the Committee
- Coordinate Alcohol & Drug program routinely. Engage with MRO for confirmatory test for required situation, rehabilitation program as per company standard
- Design and execute company health & wellness program such as Be Well Program, Health Improvement Program, Quit Smoking, Health Talk, Health Forum etc. Take inputs from reputable sources such as UN SDG, ISO and MOH.
- Appoint and coach a network of health ambassadors from each dept/section for effective implementation of any health program
- Support HR by performing analysis to understand medical absenteeism causes and propose recommendations i.e., high URTI case due to sick building syndrome
- Provide informal counselling to the workers. Assess and refer to the experts should professional management required. Work with EAP consultants as necessary.
- Coach and develop site paramedic on medical related emergencies e.g MEDEVAC process, triage
- Establish and implement assurance program for medical critical equipment such as AED, First Aid Box, alcometer, breathalyser, alcoblow, ambulance equipment etc and ensure 100% readiness at all times
- Perform routine health equipment calibration (yearly) -and SIRIM approval
- Maintain good safe keeping on any regulatory documents i.e., routine medical assessment report, audiometry report, medical surveillance test report etc. Medical confidentiality and data privacy must be a top priority.
- Keep abreast on new health directive or emerging issues such as threat of disease outbreak released by WHO, MoH and adhere compliance, provide awareness to company and workers accordingly
Establish and implement necessary health assessment protocols e.g. fitness to work, return to work, in ensuring those workers involve in critical tasks are medically FIT in preventing any incidents due to UNFIT health condition
- Liaison with the local authorities and regulatory bodies in relation to any health issue at the company i.e., Covid 19, PTB or Hepatitis
- Establish and maintain good rapport with hospital (government/private), medical facilities (lab/ambulance service) as well as good networking with peer companies and other industries
- Conduct work-place assessment, together with Medical Offciers for ergonomic exercise and OI issues in particular. The workplace assessment also to cover health concerns and work accommodation for certain group of workers i.e., pregnant mothers and those susceptible group
- Support HSE programs. Proactive in providing health items in safety work process such as specifying health hazard in and its requirement as part of PTW process (wherever possible)
- Work closely with Site Industrial Hygiene Focal/ Consultants on any potential hazard generated from plant activity and study the health effect (based on guideline). Coordinate medical assessment as per recommendation from industrial hygiene activity/consultants in line with any legal requirement.
- Identify environmental hazards that may give health effect to the workers such haze or emittance of hazardous gas from production etc
- Be proactive and creative in introducing on work process improvement such as health records digitization and drive collaboration with other departments as necessary
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum Degree in Nursing with OHN qualification
- Regulatory requirement on medical surveillance program as per DOSH, ICOP guideline
