Shift Leader

**KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**(A) PROCESS ACTIVITIES**

1. To lead a team of process staffs to ensure products are made accordingly to specifications, targets and SIS target.

2. To ensure manpower (Monsanto regular and Contract employees) assigned during the shift compliance with ESH requirement, shift members are following the work instruction for each process, manage and monitor shift member’s discipline.

3. To coordinate with Lab / Packaging / Maintenance Technicians, Warehouse supervisor on inter-related activities involving areas such as sample analysis, packing, material receiving, maintenance & troubleshooting, and start-up or shutdown of Utilities in the Manufacturing Process.

4. To verify raw material COA and carry out unloading activities. Record the receipt of the material and aids in inventory control by recording raw material and product storage levels at prescribed intervals. Responsible for the verification of condition of incoming/outgoing trucks/isotank.

5. Communicate effectively with preceding and following shifts to maintain an orderly transition at shift change.

6. Closely monitors and controls the process at the control panel and at the field to keep the process in normal & safe operation. Ensure all operation operate accordance to SOP.
- Prevents off-normal conditions by ensuring the safety of the operation.
- Detects abnormal conditions as soon as it occur, perform troubleshoots to determine the cause and to recover the abnormal back to normal condition.
- Collects and records all process data and able to determine the needful action base on the data collected.
- Collects and labels samples of process streams for analysis by the laboratory.
- Uses the laboratory analysis as evidence of good operation, making process corrections as necessary.
- Starts up, operates and shuts down the process equipment properly and safely.
- Accountable for the process performance e.g OEE/AEM, production yield & give away & etc.

7. Conduct process safety interlock check and carry out yearly maintenance shutdown for A&F.

8. Ensure and maintain all operation procedures are up to date.

9. To ensure standard sampling methods is follow at process streams for analysis by the laboratory.

10. Ensure safe and efficient Process operation such as start-up, shutdown the process equipment, forklift handling and compliance to all process safety requirements.

11. Support and perform routine preventive maintenance in the unit operation.

12. Identify and implement continuous process improvement in Amination and formulation process.

**(B) SAFETY REQUIREMENTS**:
1. Responsible for coordinating all Plant Process Safety activities and 5S activities.

2. Performing duties with safety awareness all times and regularly carry out inspection on all safety equipment in the area.

3. Ensure LOTO system and work permit system is in place before and after the job.

4. Serves on the Plant Emergency/Fire Brigade and understands how to handle emergencies that arise.

5. Report for any abnormality.

**(C) MANAGEMENT**

1. To support and assist company’s initiatives on ISO 9001/14001, KAIZEN and involve in departmental ad-hoc or special project such as installation new equipment etc.

2. Assist in preparation of production reports e.g. OEE, AEM, weekly/monthly report & etc.

3. Involve in monthly/year end stock take and analyze the causes of inventory variances if any.

4. Carry out the investigation and recommend correction action on any near miss or incident or non-conformance.

5. Identify and implement continuous process improvement in Amination and formulation process by adopting the Lean Management Practices.

6. Responsible for training of Process team & contractor for products and processes with the local team. Identify any gap in term of skill competency or SOP standard requirement. Plan and carry out the training program to ensure the training skill are met for current and future demands of the shift.

7. Familiar with Monsanto emergency response requirement and able to give instruction and direction to team.

8. Manage process contract worker safety and performance.

9. Execute and ensure correct consumption data entry into SAP inventory.

10. Carry out daily or monthly stock count.

11.Involve and provide support for internal or external QESH or Plant Process Safety audits

12.Carry out any duties as assigned by Management.

**QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE**:
1. Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing with minimum 5 years related working experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industrial.

3. Experience in operation via distributed control system (DCS) will be added advantage.

4. Good knowledge in P&D and AutoCAD added advantages.

5. Experience use of SAP OPO module is preferable.

6. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and knowledgeable in Lean Methodology.

7. Forklift driving certificate is preferable.

8. Effective communication and writing skills (Both Malay and English).
