The General Manager manages the day to day hotel operations in keeping with all corporate and brand standards. Sets the strategic direction and management of the hotel to maximize performance, profitability and return on investment as well as guest and team member satisfaction. Communicates with hotel owners and corporate offices, as required. Ensures the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives.Structures a financially sound and accurate Business Plan.Facilitates the preparation of hotel budgets and forecasts for corporate submission and approvals.Agrees financial targets with Senior Management team and ensure they are kept up to date with on-going financial information. Approves hotel department budgets, defining and directing changes, as required.Implements capital expenditure decisions in line with business performanceEnsures accurate forecasting, predicting potential highs and lows in business and initiate necessary changes, analyse variances and initiate appropriate action plans.Manages cash flow, assets and costs to optimise profit conversion and deliver against the planMaximise Rev Par results. Be aware of market threats, opportunities and ensure activities reflect these conditionsReviews forecasts and balanced scorecard. Maximize profitability, increase service levels and improve team member satisfaction. :Facilitates necessary hotel meetings such as 4D Meetings; Operational Meetings; Team Member Communication Meetings, etc)Supports Business Development team with client visitsOversees the sales and marketing activity and results. Lead and/or participate in sales and marketing strategy meetings. Participate in efforts to secure business, as needed.Creates and maintain relationships with key revenue producing customersMaintain and improve SALT resultsManages customer complaints effectively, speaks with and responds to guests regarding service challenges.
