**Job Summary**:
An Account Executive (Accounts Receivable) is responsible for managing the accounts receivable function within an organization. They oversee the invoicing process, monitor outstanding balances, and ensure timely collection of payments from customers. Their primary objective is to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt losses while maintaining positive relationships with customers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Generate and distribute invoices to customers for goods or services rendered
- Follow up with customers on overdue payments and implement collection strategies to accelerate cash collections
- Conduct collection calls and correspondence with customers to follow up on overdue payments. Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve payment disputes or discrepancies
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies or variances in payment records. Investigate and resolve unapplied payments, credits, or deductions
- Prepare accounts receivable reports and analysis, including aging reports, cash forecasts, and bad debt reserves. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on analysis of receivables data
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service and resolving billing inquiries or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Implement enhancements to streamline workflows, reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and improve cash flow

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or credit and collections roles
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles, practices, and procedures. Familiarity with billing systems, invoicing processes, and credit management
- Strong negotiation skills are important for resolving payment disputes, negotiating payment terms, and establishing payment arrangements with customers
- Excellent attention to detail is crucial for reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable records.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, such as ERP (SAGE) and Excel
- Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external customers
