**UCT** is looking for a talented **AP Accountant** to join us in **Malaysia **This is a multifaceted and challenging position and ideally would suit a qualified accountant looking for experience in a fast-paced multinational environment. The purpose of this role is to correctly, timely, and efficiently execute the Accounts Payable Accountant function for UCTM.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of processing PO invoices, non-PO invoices, freight bills, credit memos, etc. in SAP.
- Following up with vendors and the internal team to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain a large number of AP account balances and fully comply with company policies and procedures.
- Experience with 3-way and 2-way matching of invoices to PO.
- Reconcile vendor statements and work with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform various month and quarter-end close activities as assigned.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits and SOX for relevant areas.
- Provide excellent support and follow-up with all stakeholders, including vendors, management, and colleagues.
- Responsible for preparation of month-end accruals for freight, recurring charges, and invoices received after AP entry cut-off.
- Adhering to accounting standards and regulations. Ability to efficiently work toward and consistently meet deadlines.
- Support special projects, and other ad-hoc duties, as needed.
- Participate in system enhancements and upgrades in collaboration with the Financial Systems team.
- Service-minded, good attitude, Self-motivated, able to work well under pressure and deliver work product on time.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written is essential.
- Familiar with MS Office and ERP accounting systems (SAP experience is highly desirable)
- Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Requires strong analytical and quantitative skills, strong work ethic, and adaptability.
- Able to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
**Educational/Certification Requirement**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related majors.
