Executive Recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group's Professional division is partnered with one of the world's leading UK Universities who have set up an international campus based in Malaysia. Our distinguished client is currently seeking an exceptional Chief Academic Officer with at least 10 years of relevant experience. The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) is a key member of the Senior Leadership Committee responsible for overseeing the academic success and future growth of the University.

**Job Summary**:

- The CAO provides strategic and operational leadership and direction to ensure academic excellence, curriculum development, faculty development, accreditation and professional body engagement, relevant industry collaboration and an outstanding student experience.
- Your will be responsible for regularly reviewing revising and ensuring the successful delivery of the University's Strategic Plan.

**Responsibilities**:

- Regularly reviewing the Plan and working across the University to lead all aspects of academic development, delivery, and performance monitoring.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive academic development strategy that aligns with their goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and diversification.
- Building and maintaining a robust network of contacts related to their academic programmes, working with schools, government, and the education industry to support the growth of the University.
- Collaborating closely with the HQ University in UK, to align academic strategies with business development and enterprise initiatives to promote a seamless integration of academic and business goals.
- Working closely with the VP (Education) and VP(International) to address operational issues that impact the growth and success of University.
- Attracting new clients and partners, negotiate agreements, and foster relationships to enhance the University's reputation and reach.
- Ensuring robust processes and procedures are in place to support the effective and efficient delivery of all academic functions.
- Acting as an interface between cognate academic, operational and professional services at the University and the HQ University to ensure appropriate academic standards and excellence are maintained.
- Working with the CEO and the COO to establish and nurture relationships with local, national, and international stakeholders to ensure the growth and success of the university.

**Job Requirements**:

- Educational qualification - Skill level equivalent to achievement of a professional qualification or postgraduate degree.
- Working experience - Extensive academic leadership experience (at least 10 years' working experience), preferably in higher education.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Visionary leadership with a commitment to academic excellence.
- Familiarity with the UK and Malaysia Higher Education sectors, and transnational education models
- Experience in driving business development and enterprise initiatives, ensuring a harmonious alignment between academic and business objectives.
- Ability to plan, lead and manage academic major new projects or significant new activities, driving activity to completion while managing details and ensuring plans complement broader organisational strategy.
- Ability to analyse, problem solve and provide advice for self and various client groups.
- Proven ability to foster positive collaborative relationships both within and outside of own Faculty and with external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia (BM) and English, with the ability to build and maintain valuable relationships.
