- active sales activity and controlling costs in order to achieve financial targets as per budget.
- Establish, monitor and review standards within the department as laid down in the THISTLE SOP manual.
- Ensure training & development of staff is carried out in order to achieve product service standards as detailed in the SOP manual while implementing a Personal Development plan for all subordinates as when appropriate.
- Establish, monitor and review Customer Care practises in order to achieve total client satisfaction.
- To liase with department heads in order to ensure that the THISTLE SOP’s are adhered to.
- Assist in the preparation of Annual Budgets and report on all variances on actual to budget with explanations and proposals for corrective action.
- Assist the Finance department with any queries arising from Guest bills.
- To establish detailed Job Descriptions and person specifications for members of staff within the Front Office department, and liasing with the Human Resource office to ensure the effective selection and recruitment of staff
- Establish and implement a systematic training system and schedule for each member of staff to ensure that standard of performance is achieved.
- Submit regular Staff Appraisals, regularly reviewed and records maintained in order to identify training and developmental needs.
- To be fully aware of THISTLE’s Health & Safety, Fire and Licensing accounts procedures and other aspects and all members of staff are appropriately trained and records are maintained.
- To be aware with THISTLE’s disciplinary procedures and implement when and if necessary in a fair manner, liaise with the Human Resource department.
- To compile staff & Duty Management rotas in accordance with anticipated levels of business giving due consideration to strengths and weaknesses of personnel available and ensuring that time sheets are submitted on time.
- To be an active member of the management team in order to assist in achieving good levels of communication throughout the organization thus achieving inter-departmental cooperation.
- To ensure an effective 2-way flow of communication from Management to staff and vice-versa.
- To carry out periodic Duty Management responsibilities and to be fully conversant of the requirements needed.To conduct site inspections for prospective customers when required.
- To be prepared to accept and carry out any other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as may be required by the General Manager and/or Operations Manager.
