Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization's intellectual property portfolio, including filing, renewal, and enforcement of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs. This role requires collaboration with external counsel, commercial, marketing, and product development teams to develop and implement strategies to protect the organization's intellectual property rights.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Filing, renewals, and enforcement of IP filings, clearance searches, and monitoring competitor threats.
  • Developing and implementing IP strategies to protect trademarks, patents, copyrights, and designs.
  • Managing all contentious IP-related matters, including office actions, objections, cancellations, and other disputes.
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and providing advice on IP-related agreements, including NDAs and licensing agreements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a law degree from a reputable university, admission to the Malaysian bar or another Commonwealth jurisdiction, and at least eight (8) years of PQE experience in a reputable international law firm or in-house position in a multinational company.
