Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a data governance framework that prioritizes critical data elements and capabilities.
  • Roll out a company-wide data governance framework, emphasizing data ownership, stewardship, and data quality improvements through culture, process changes, and technology.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and the operating model for data governance activities to ensure clear accountability for data stewardship.
  • Maintain the data governance framework, including data cataloging, metadata management, and ensuring data accessibility and accountability.
  • Lead and manage key data domains such as data governance, data quality management, master data management, and data sharing.
  • Support business units and data domains in understanding and leveraging the benefits of effective data governance.
  • Lead and participate in data governance and management forums.
  • Collaborate with IT, Information Security, Digital Transformation, and business stakeholders to provide regular progress updates.
  • Support the deployment and utilization of data governance tools, including business glossaries, data catalogs, data dictionaries, data quality metrics, and data lineage tracking.
Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of experience in the banking, financial services, or insurance industry, with extensive experience in data governance and management.
  • Proven track record in data governance and data management.
  • Experience in setting up and implementing data governance projects, including defining roles and responsibilities, managing risks, and improving business processes.
  • Strong planning and implementation skills to effectively support data governance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data governance requirements, emerging trends, and issues.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in data governance and data management.
  • Expertise in data classification, management, lifecycle management, and data quality.
  • Proficiency with data governance tools and technologies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics, data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI), SQL, with Python being an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
  • Preferably, experience in data-related roles and/or in data governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capable of navigating ambiguity with a solution-focused approach.
  • Highly motivated with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Dedicated and able to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with senior stakeholders effectively.
