About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Economist to join our team at Petroleum Sarawak. As a key member of our economic analysis team, you will be responsible for generating economic analyses and valuations for investment opportunities and business proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Economic Insights: Develop and maintain economic models to provide quality economic valuations and insights for investment opportunities and proposals.
  • Support Commercial Negotiations: Analyze audited financial statements and provide scenario and risk analyses to support commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop field development plans and provide economic inputs.
  • Drive Economic Analysis Standards: Communicate and apply economic evaluation guidelines and standards to ensure consistency in economic analyses.
  • Support Business Planning: Assist in the preparation of annual business plans and budgets.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience with strong analytical knowledge, particularly in upstream (production, cost, commercial, and financial subjects) in Malaysia's PSC fiscal regimes.
  • Skills: Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel functions.
