Job Description

The Supervising Accountant will provide active leadership and mentorship to assigned direct reports within the function. They will ensure that direct reports have the necessary skills and proficiencies to perform daily tasks, providing support and mentoring to consistently achieve high performance levels.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruiting, motivating, and developing team members, including setting team objectives, defining duties, conducting performance appraisals, and crafting individual development plans.

They will work closely with our BPO partner, Infosys, to ensure outsourced roles/tasks are done accurately and promptly. Address any issues by informing both Infosys and Hasbro management.

Serve as the initial support point for the team in troubleshooting issues before advancing to the Director, Financial Reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide active leadership and mentorship to assigned direct report(s) within the function.
  2. Ensure that direct report(s) have the necessary skills and proficiencies to perform daily tasks, providing support and mentoring to consistently achieve high performance levels.
  3. Recruit, motivate, and develop team members, including setting team objectives, defining duties, conducting performance appraisals, and crafting individual development plans.
  4. Work closely with our BPO partner, Infosys, to ensure outsourced roles/tasks are done accurately and promptly. Address any issues by informing both Infosys and Hasbro management.
  5. Serve as the initial support point for the team in troubleshooting issues before advancing to the Director, Financial Reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate month-end activities and closing tasks in accordance with Corporate timelines.
  • Review and approve journal entries prepared by the team.
  • Ensure completion of sub-ledger activities as part of the month-end close process.
  • Perform and review account reconciliations, including intercompany and bank reconciliations, using Blackline or Excel where applicable.
  • Ensure intercompany transactions adhere to Corporate Transfer Pricing policies.
  • Coordinate the submission of year-end reporting packages and tax schedules per Corporate requirements.
  • Prepare annual tax returns for review and submission by Company tax representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, taxation, and other government requirements, maintaining adequate documentation for compliance.
  • Liaise with Company Auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits and preparation of Statutory Accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other internal controls in place per Company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Actively support the Global R2R team in implementing new ways of working.
