The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager and be responsible for designing, creating, delivering, and operating software systems in a consistently high-quality manner. Your primary area of responsibility will be to construct internal tools that facilitate aspects of mobile development, such as app deployment, stability monitoring, and assistance for mobile engineers in identifying and resolving production issues more rapidly.

Critical Tasks

  • You will play a significant and autonomous role in your team, trusted with designing, creating, delivering, and operating software systems in a consistently high-quality manner.
  • When working on systems within your team's domain, you will take into account the appropriate architectural patterns, code design, and infrastructure options, ensuring that you deliver a system that is secure, reliable, maintainable, extensible, and well-tested.
  • You will be responsible for post-deployment monitoring and will also look for opportunities to improve processes within your own team.
  • In addition to being trusted to operate independently, you will maintain a good partnership with all stakeholders for projects that you are involved in.
  • You will take an active role in your projects as a team member involved in product design to rollout, taking ownership of your work and constantly focusing on moving these projects forward.
  • You will help the team grow and improve by mentoring junior members, introducing process improvements, and having a strong influence on the team roadmap to ensure maximal impact.

Essential Skills

  • At least 7 years of professional software development experience
  • Solid software engineering and coding skills, specifically experience in a backend language like Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++
  • Experience building front-end applications and working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with defect tracking tools and version control
  • Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
  • Experience with web frameworks such as preferred
  • Experience leading a project with cross-functional team members from end to end
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and pushing for engineering excellence
