The Mobile Apps Libraries Tools & Automation (MALTA) team is responsible for developing and maintaining the mobile apps and tools that enable mobile developers to build, test, and deploy high-quality mobile apps. Our team is passionate about delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and partners.
Get to know the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the main components of internal tools supported by the team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and build what is needed to ensure a delightful mobile developer experience.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components that meet the needs of our customers and partners.
- You will collect and analyze user feedback, identifying areas for improvement and prioritizing feature development accordingly.
- You will implement best practices for software development, ensuring high-quality code and adhering to performance, security, and accessibility standards.
- You will proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure system stability and performance.
- You will collaborate closely with teams across GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. to understand and build what is needed to ensure a delightful mobile developer experience.
- You will take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment.
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
- You will have solid software engineering and coding skills, with experience in a backend language like Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++.
- You will build our front-end applications and be comfortable working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- You will work with relational databases, such as MySQL, so familiarity with how they work and how to work with them is important.
- You will write extensible code for complex projects and pick the right abstractions that adhere to SOLID principles. You will understand more complex data structures and algorithms, and recognize when to use them.
- You will have experience with defect tracking tools and version control.
- You will have strong Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with web frameworks and tools such as React.js, Redux.js, Webpack, etc. is preferred.
