The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to guide a team of engineers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead small to medium-sized infrastructure projects with a multidisciplinary approach, overseeing all phases from conceptual design to completion.
- Design and Drawing Preparation: Conduct feasibility studies, develop design briefs, and prepare detailed sketch drawings for drafting, ensuring all necessary details are included for tender and construction purposes.
- Tender Document and Evaluation: Prepare comprehensive tender documents, including specifications and bills of quantities, and evaluate tenders to provide recommendations to clients for tender acceptance.
- Contract Administration: Manage contract administration, including reviewing contractor submissions, inspecting materials and equipment, and overseeing testing procedures.
- Business Development: Build and maintain strong client relationships, assist in preparing expressions of interest and consultancy proposals, and support sales and marketing efforts to secure new projects.
- Management and Administration: Assist in management and administrative functions within the division and company, implement strategies to improve division efficiency, and mentor junior engineers and conduct on-the-job training.
- Additional Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates for projects, attend meetings and coordinate with internal and external design teams, liaise with relevant authorities for drawing and document approvals, and perform site supervision to ensure adherence to contract documentation and engineering standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Registered with BEM as a Graduate Engineer.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
- Proficient in handling small to medium-sized infrastructure projects with minimal supervision.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide a team of engineers and staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia.
