We are seeking an experienced Public Affairs and Media Relations Lead to join our team at MDEC. As a key member of our communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing public affairs and media relations strategies that drive positive outcomes for the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement public affairs and media relations strategies that effectively communicate the company's brand values and initiatives
  • Maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists through proactive outreach and media relations
  • Develop and write crisis communications plans to mitigate negative impact on the organization's reputation
  • Monitor media coverage and evaluate data for effectiveness of public affairs and media relations strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve communications objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in public affairs and media relations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public affairs, communications, marketing or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public affairs and media relations or related field
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing effective public affairs and media relations strategies
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
