Job Purpose

The PR manager will be responsible for managing and implementing communication plans, messaging, and media relations for the organization. He/ She will work closely with the company's leadership team to develop strategies, campaigns and programs that promote the company's brand, values and initiatives both internally and externally. He/ She should be able to foster positive staff relationships under the supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies, outlining tactics to effectively communicate the organization's image and market presence
  • Maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists by preparing press releases and organizing media pitching
  • Adept at handling potential crisis, developing and writing the crisis communications plans and responding promptly to mitigate negative impact on organization's reputations
  • Monitoring media coverage and evaluate data for effectiveness of PR strategies
  • Able to write, oversee the planning and coordinating PR efforts including (but not limited to) speech creation, talking point / FAQ creation, development of Press Release /statements/quotes, media relations, preparing PowerPoint presentation slides, creative scripting and captioning on videos, event and social media
  • Ensure timely implementation, strategic thinking & management of PR / Social media campaign plans
  • Updating and maintaining the PR department's documentation and prepare due diligence of teams documentation monitoring for audit purposes
  • Ensure regular market research are conducted and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for the company to engage with its target audience and improve its PR image
  • Perform additional due diligence, writing special assignment, ad-hoc functions and related duties as and when necessary
  • Willing to work long hours as required on ad-hoc or requests from internal / external stakeholders
  • Support Senior Manager for stakeholder presentations, strategic thinking for management and reporting
  • Provide mentorship and support for staff members in department
  • Assist the Social Media & Video team in managing social media publishing content into MDEC social media platforms or related
  • Analyze and provide campaign performance and actionable insights to improve future initiatives with the Head of Depts / Division
  • Prepare regular reports on PR and content activities and their impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in PR, communications, marketing or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in PR communications, content development or related field
  • Strong understanding of media, public relations and communications industry trends
  • Exceptional writing skills and editing abilities in English and BM
  • Other verbal languages communication skills is add-values
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proven experience in managing media relations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills
