Job Title: Team Lead - Financial Accounting

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead - Financial Accounting to join our team. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of accounting reports and deliverables prepared by the team. You will also be responsible for preparing and updating related matters and reports as per schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting Operations: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of accounting reports and deliverables prepared by the team in accordance with client requirements and SLA.
  2. Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and update related matters and reports as per schedule.
  3. Client Communication: Be responsive to client's enquiries for accounting and other operation matters.
  4. Team Management: Proper planning of engagement so as to be aware of the needs and provide quality service to Clients.
  5. Goal Setting: Set clear team goals and deadlines with appropriate delegation of tasks.
  6. Reporting and Consultation: Effective reporting and consultation with Operations Manager & Practice Lead.
  7. Quality Control: Ensure quality deliverables, reviewing and approving work of staff prior delivery of final accounts/reports for Operations Manager's final review OR direct to client.
  8. Financial Accounting Closing Process: Manage client's financial accounting closing process, monitoring and reporting systems.
  9. Process Improvement: Assist Operations Manager in streamlining effective workflow processes and efficient manpower structure.
  10. Client Meetings: Attend client/management meetings as required by clients.
  11. Standard Operating Procedures: Ensure that all SOPs are strictly adhered to by all staff.
  12. Client Queries: Ensure reply/respond to clients' queries/correspondence not later than 2 working days.
  13. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and take/recommend appropriate action.
  14. Ad Hoc Activities: Handle ad hoc activities as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  1. Accounting Experience: Experience of managing the end-to-end accounting function.
  2. Accounting Software: Knowledge on some accounting software is an advantage such as Microsoft Navision, Xero, Oracle and SAP.
  3. Language Skills: Good command of both spoken and written English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
  4. Urgency and Ownership: Sense of urgency, ownership and commitment to on-time and on-quality delivery.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team.
  6. Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  7. Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex accounting environment.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Should have experience in stakeholder management either to internal business units or external customers/clients.
  9. Process Improvement: Experience in work migration, system enhancement or process improvement.
  10. Client Service: Experience working in client service or SSC environment will be an added advantage.
  11. Education: Diploma/Degree or in the midst of pursuing professional studies in accounting/financial or its equivalent.
  12. Professional Certifications: ACCA, MIA, CPA or equivalent will be added advantage.
