**Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Lead**

Job Summary:

The **Engineering Manager** is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and solutions. This role involves strategic planning, project management, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    2. Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
    3. Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    1. Develop and execute the engineering department's strategic plan, aligning with the company's overall objectives.
    2. Identify emerging technologies and industry trends, including 4IR technologies, to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
    3. Collaborate with senior management to define product and technology roadmaps.
  3. Project Management:
    1. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    2. Implement and maintain project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
    3. Ensure effective resource allocation and utilization across projects.
  4. Technical Leadership:
    1. Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring the adoption of best practices and high-quality standards.
    2. Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and reliable systems.
    3. Facilitate technical decision-making and problem-solving within the team.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with product development, production, quality, planning and other engineering sites to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
    2. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
    3. Represent the engineering team in executive meetings and contribute to overall company strategy.
  6. Quality and Process Improvement:
    1. Establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
    2. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
    3. Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  7. 4IR Technologies:
    1. Lead the integration and adoption of 4IR technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and advanced analytics.
    2. Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and product innovation.
    3. Ensure the engineering team stays current with advancements in 4IR technologies and leverages them effectively.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. 15+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  3. Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects.
  4. Strong technical background with expertise in hard disk drive technology is an added advantage.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  7. Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  9. Knowledge and experience with 4IR technologies and their applications in the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in hard disk drive and high tech manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
  2. Proven ability to manage and build engineering team.
