Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Development Engineer to join our team at 091 Flectronics Technology (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. in Prai, Penang. As a key member of our production engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, engineering, and modifying automation equipment and processes to drive efficiency and productivity.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Automation Design and Development: Design, engineer, and modify existing and new moderately complex automation equipment, tooling, and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
  2. Technical Documentation: Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
  4. Process Improvement: Be willing to learn & enhance skills in all types of automation equipment, and provide feedback to improve the design of processes and equipment.
  5. Departmental Activities: Direct daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
  6. Collaboration: Coordinate maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.
  7. Automation Framework: Collaborate and offer input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.
  8. Process Optimization: Identify and drive change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
  9. Business Development: Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plans.
  10. PPV Reconciliation: Drive reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non-cancelable, Non-Returnable (NCNR), etc.).

Requirements:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or related experience.

Typically requires a minimum of 7 years' experience in a related field.

Must have an understanding of:

  1. CAD
  2. Robot and PLC programming
  3. Other automation components
  4. Background in oscilloscope, cable and harness testing, troubleshooting
  5. Able to perform assembly DFM, RFP, and RFQ of automation
