Job Summary

This Engineering Support Specialist role plays a vital part in the success of Tyson Foods' maintenance operations, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating documentation, scheduling, reporting, and communication across various departments.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to the engineering team, including data entry, document management, and record-keeping.
  2. Manage work orders, track progress, and communicate with technicians and engineers to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
  3. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history, using industry-standard software.
Procurement & Inventory Management
  1. Assist in purchasing spare parts, tools, and equipment for the engineering department, collaborating with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes and manage purchase orders.
  2. Maintain an inventory database, tracking stock levels to optimize resource utilization and minimize delays.
  3. Develop and implement inventory management strategies, aligning with company goals and objectives.
Reporting & Compliance
  1. Prepare and generate reports related to maintenance activities, downtime analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs), informing business decisions and improving operational efficiency.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining proper documentation and implementing controls to prevent non-compliance.
  3. Support audits by providing required records and documentation, facilitating a smooth and efficient audit process.
Communication & Coordination
  1. Act as a liaison between the engineering department and other teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  2. Assist in organizing team meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings, promoting a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
  3. Provide administrative support to engineering leadership, handling correspondence, emails, and scheduling.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  2. 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, preferably in an engineering or maintenance environment.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with industry-standard software.
  4. Knowledge of basic engineering and maintenance terminology.
