About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our High-Volume Manufacturing team at Western Digital. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving Test Excellence in collaboration with operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Optimize Test Strategies: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, balancing test time, yield, and quality to achieve aggressive goals in high-volume manufacturing environments. Conduct troubleshooting, validation, and continuous improvement on given products.
  2. Execute and Collaborate on Engineering Solutions: Assist and execute implementation of innovative engineering solutions to meet project requirements. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  3. Support Innovation and Cost Efficiency: Partner with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge testing technologies and elevate existing practices. Execute and support the adoption of cost-saving solutions like Test Time Reduction (TTR) and new test platform enablement, driving CAPEX reduction through innovative test strategies.
  4. Technical Expertise and Support: Provide technical support in electrical failure analysis for internal and external stakeholders. Address issues related to RMAs, production, reliability, and DPPM (Defects Per Million Parts) improvement.
  5. Technical Communication and Documentation: Develop and deliver clear, concise technical reports and documentation, including electrical failure analysis work instructions, test equipment guidelines, test reports, and specifications.
  6. NPI (New Product Introduction) Support: Actively participate in NPI projects, ensuring a smooth transfer of test technology from the mother site to mass production.
  7. Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship: Conduct technical training sessions for technicians, fostering knowledge transfer and team development.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a degree or master's in electrical & electronic Engineering, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in semiconductor product or test engineering. Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (FMEA, DMAIC, Fish bone diagram), SPC/SBL/SYL, and familiarity with Flip Chip technology are essential. Basic knowledge of Non-Volatile Memory and DC/functional testing methods is an added advantage. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically are required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Experienced using ATE for testing is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are essential. Good Python, SQL, C++ and Java skills are an added advantage. Experience in handling automotive product lines and achieving VDA certification is a plus.
