The Role

The Assistant Banquet Manager plays a vital role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of banquet and catering services for events. This includes overseeing daily operations, managing event logistics, and ensuring high-quality service is delivered during events.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination & Execution:
    • Collaborate with the sales manager in planning and overseeing banquet and catering operations for events.
    • Evaluate and ensure the proper banquet setup according to the event requirements, including seating arrangements, audio-visual needs, and food and beverage services.
    • Effectively coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
    • Oversee banquet staff during events to guarantee exceptional service and compliance with our standards.
  • Staff Management:
    • Support in scheduling and managing banquet staff, including wait staff, captains, and bartenders.
    • Deliver training and guidance to new employees and ensure all staff are well-prepared for events.
    • Maintain staff performance and address any service issues that arise during events.
  • Client Relations:
    • Serve as a liaison between clients and the banquet team to ensure all event details are executed to the client's satisfaction.
    • Respond to client requests, concerns, and feedback during events to guarantee a smooth and positive experience.
    • Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather client feedback and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Quality Control & Standards:
    • Guarantee all banquet and catering operations meet our high-quality standards, from food presentation to customer service.
    • Maintain event spaces for cleanliness, safety, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
    • Implement corrective measures when necessary to address any issues with service or event execution.
  • Logistics & Inventory Management:
    • Support in managing inventory levels for banquet supplies.
    • Cultivate relationships with vendors for the timely delivery of supplies and services for events.
    • Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and upkeep of all banquet and catering equipment.

Requirements

We seek a seasoned professional with extensive experience in banquet or events management. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in banquet or events management, preferably within the MICE or hospitality industry.
  • Strong proficiency in speaking Mandarin Chinese.
  • Outstanding leadership and staff management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Capacity to handle high-pressure situations and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banquet setup procedures, food and beverage service, and event coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • A proven track record of delivering exceptional results and exceeding expectations.
