We are a mission-driven team with demonstrated passion and integrity to work collaboratively and serve our customers. **Key Responsibilities**: - To identify and source reliable suppliers for diverse seafood products. - Advise vendors on changing trend and customer demand - To build and manage relationships with fish vendors, in particular consignment vendors. - Run market studies and assessments on seafood industry trends, product availability, and pricing dynamics in Malaysia and South-East Asia. - 50% of the job is to be “on-the-ground” supporting vendors to improve operations, checking on freshness of seafood and understanding customer’s feedback. - Skillfully negotiate favorable terms, encompassing pricing, payment conditions, delivery schedules, and quality benchmarks. - Regularly assess supplier performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure consistent quality and service. - Support with display optimization and management of inventory (what items to carry, what’s trending). - Fulfill additional duties as assigned by superiors, both within and outside the department, to support departmental objectives and organizational growth. Willingness to learn is important. **You should have**: - Prior experience in fresh seafood procurement or related role is important. - Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for effective supplier management. Mandarin and Hokkien speakers is an advantage. - Attention to detail and organizational proficiency in documenting and processing purchase orders. - Familiarity with quality assurance standards and regulations for running a fresh seafood business. - Proactive approach to problem-solving and an adaptable attitude in a dynamic work environment. **Salary**: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month **Benefits**: - Free parking - Meal provided - Opportunities for promotion - Professional development Supplemental pay types: - Yearly bonus **Language**: - Mandarin (required)
