**Job Overview**:
The **Distribution Executive** at Ibis Styles Hotel Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park is responsible for managing and optimizing the hotel’s distribution channels to maximize room revenue and ensure the hotel’s visibility across various online and offline platforms. This role involves ensuring that the hotel’s room inventory and rates are correctly distributed across **OTAs** (Online Travel Agents), **Global Distribution Systems (GDS)**, and **direct booking channels**, and monitoring the effectiveness of these channels to ensure maximum exposure and bookings. The Distribution Executive will work closely with Revenue, Sales, and Marketing teams to implement distribution strategies and support the hotel’s overall sales objectives.
**Key Responsibilities: Channel Management**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information regarding room rates, availability, and promotional offers on all distribution platforms.
- Oversee the hotel’s **channel manager** to ensure seamless integration between the Property Management System (PMS), Central Reservation System (CRS), and distribution platforms.
- Collaborate with the Revenue and Front Office teams to ensure room inventory is allocated correctly across all channels to optimize sales.
**Rate Parity and Inventory Control**:
- Ensure rate parity across all online distribution channels, preventing price discrepancies and ensuring consistency.
- Work with the Revenue team to set the optimal **rate strategy** across all channels, considering both business demand and competitive analysis.
- Monitor room availability, update restrictions (e.g., closed to arrival, minimum stay), and adjust pricing to align with demand forecasts, booking trends, and competitor activities.
- Coordinate with the Revenue team to implement strategies such as **dynamic pricing**, **closed-out dates**, and **overbooking** policies to maximize revenue.
**Performance Monitoring and Reporting**:
- Monitor and analyze performance across various distribution channels, including tracking metrics such as **booking volume**, **conversion rates**, **commission costs**, and **market share**.
- Generate and review performance reports to track bookings, identify trends, and recommend improvements in channel performance.
- Provide regular updates to management on the effectiveness of each distribution channel, highlighting key insights and recommendations to improve overall performance.
**Contract and Partnership Management**:
- Assist in managing relationships with **third-party distributors** (OTAs, GDS providers) and ensure contracts are in place for all relevant channels.
- Negotiate and manage commission structures, special promotions, and marketing partnerships with OTAs and other distribution partners.
- Review and assess the performance of each partner regularly, ensuring they are meeting agreed-upon targets and providing value to the hotel’s distribution strategy.
**Training and Support**:
- Provide training and support to the **Reservations** and **Front Office teams** on the proper use of distribution systems, including any updates or changes to channel strategies and tools.
- Act as the point of contact for internal teams for distribution-related queries and issues, providing solutions when problems arise.
**Market and Competitor Analysis**:
- Regularly analyze market trends, competitor distribution strategies, and industry best practices to ensure the hotel’s distribution strategy remains competitive.
- Identify new distribution opportunities and platforms that may enhance the hotel’s reach and visibility within key target markets.
- Monitor competitor pricing, positioning, and promotions to ensure the hotel remains competitive across all distribution channels.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, **Business Administration**, **Marketing**, or a related field.
- **Experience**:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in **hotel distribution**, **revenue management**, or **sales** within the hospitality industry, preferably with experience in managing OTAs, GDS, and channel managers.
- Hands-on experience with **Property Management Systems (PMS)** such as **Opera**, **Mews**, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with **channel management software** and **Global Distribution Systems (GDS)** such as **Sabre**, **Amadeus**, or **Travelport**.
- **Skills and Knowledge**:
- Strong understanding of **online distribution channels**, **rate parity**, **yield management**, and **revenue optimization**.
- Proficient in using **Microsoft Excel** and other reporting tools for data analysis and performance tracking.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and online sales strategies is a plus.
