Mandarin Teacher

We are looking for a Mandarin teacher to teach **Primary Year 4 to Year 6** students.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
**Position**:Mandarin Teacher (Primary Y4 - Y6)
**Preferred**:Malaysian

**Location**:Cyberjaya
- Teach **Mandarin** using the **HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) syllabus**.
- Teach **Iqra** and **Pendidikan Seni Visual (PSV)**.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB SCOPE**:
**1. Teaching Mandarin Language**:

- Teach Mandarin Language to students in an interesting, effective and helpful methods.
- Design and deliver Mandarin Language lessons with a primary focus on HSK exam preparation.
- Create lesson plans and educational materials that align with curriculum standards and school’s guidelines
- Create a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with HSK test levels and requirements.
- Assessing students' language skills and progress, providing constructive feedback, and designing assessments to help for their improvement.
- Organize practice exams and simulate real HSK testing conditions.
- Stay updated on HSK examination trends and maintain a high level of expertise in HSK standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate HSK preparation into the broader curriculum.
- Encouraging language learning acquisition through speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities.

**2. Cultural and Contextual Understanding**:

- Providing cultural insights, including aspects of Chinese culture and traditions, as part of language instruction.
- Connect language learning to real-life situations and relevance.

**3. Classroom Management**:

- Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of students in the classroom.

**4. Curriculum Development**:

- Contributing to the improvement and refinement of the Mandarin curriculum, including the integration of internationally recognized language standards.
- Collaborating with colleagues and schools leaders to align the Mandarin program with the school’s overall curriculum.

**5. Professional Development**:

- Continuously learning and growing to stay updated with the best teaching methods in language instruction.

**6. Parent and Teacher Collaboration**:

- Communicating with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and attending parent-teacher meetings as necessary.

**7. Assessment and Reporting**:

- Preparing progress reports and attending meetings to discuss student performance and educational outcomes.

**8. Extracurricular Activities**:

- Organizing and participating in language-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or cultural events.

**9. Additional Duties**:

- Undertaking any additional duties and other responsibilities or roles assigned by the school administration as needed to support school’s vision and mission.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- **Education**:Bachelor's degree in Education, Mandarin Chinese Language, or a related field. Having a master's degree is an advantage.
- **HSK Certification**: Having HSK certification can be a valuable asset and advantage because it signifies the proficiency in the language, demonstrates the ability to teach which is essential for effective language instruction.
- **Language Proficiency**:Proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is necessary.
- **Teaching Experience**: Having over 2 (TWO) years of experience, especially in a similar international school setting, can be an advantage. Previous experience teaching Mandarin with a focus on HSK exam preparation.
- **Knowledge of Curriculum**: Familiarity with international curricula and international language testing standards such as the Cambridge International (IGCSE) or International Baccalaureate (IB) can be an advantage.
- **Passion for Teaching**:A genuine passion for teaching and a dedication to students' academic and personal growth.
- **Communication Skills**:Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
