**Position Description - Remote Accountant**

**Position Title**: Accountant (Remote)
**Location**: Malaysia - Work from Home (Remote)
**Employment Type**: Full-time / Part-time (flexible depending on start-up needs)
**Reports To**: Founder / Finance Manager / CEO (depending on structure)

**Key Responsibilities**

Depending on the start-up you’re matched with, responsibilities may include:

- Managing full sets of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations).
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensuring compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Liaising with auditors, tax agents, and government authorities.
- Providing financial insights to founders and leadership teams.
- Implementing and improving accounting systems and processes.

**Skills & Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience (SME or start-up background highly regarded).
- Proficiency in accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, SQL, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax and financial regulations.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote set-up.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills - comfortable working in fast-moving environments.
