1. New Product Development (NPD)
- Develop fast-moving consumer food products aligned with current market trends and consumer preferences.
- Design formulations using suitable, cost-effective ingredients, flavours, and additives tailored for mass production.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, recipe trials, and shelf-life studies tailored to retail requirements.
- Prepare samples for internal evaluation, customer presentation, and retail feedback.
2. Product Improvement
- Reformulate existing products to improve taste, texture, shelf life, nutrition, and reduce production cost.
- Modify recipes to meet consumer demand for clean-label, healthier, or sustainable options.
- Ensure product consistency across high-volume production batches.
3. Technical Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare accurate product specifications, formulations, and SOPs aligned with FMCG traceability requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations (e.g. Halal, GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and FDA if exported).
- Provide technical documentation and support for Halal certification, product registration, and labeling requirements.
4. Process Development & Support
- Assist in scaling up formulations from lab to pilot to high-speed manufacturing lines.
- Support production during factory trials, commercial launches, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to optimize machinery settings and reduce waste.
5. Ingredient and Raw Material Evaluation
- Source and evaluate new ingredients or suppliers with Purchasing and QA teams.
- Conduct functionality testing, stability evaluation, and regulatory compliance checks.
- Ensure all ingredients are cost-effective and suitable for mass-market production and labeling.
6. Sensory & Shelf Life Testing
- Conduct sensory evaluations (taste, texture, aroma, visual) for mass-market acceptance.
- Perform real-time and accelerated shelf-life testing under various storage conditions.
- Compile testing reports and recommend packaging improvements if required.
7. Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with QA/QC, Marketing, Sales, and Production to launch products successfully.
- Provide technical information for marketing campaigns, product brochures, and packaging claims.
- Train production, warehouse, and QA teams on new product handling and specifications.
8. Market Research & Innovation
- Conduct benchmarking against key FMCG competitors.
- Analyze consumer behavior, retail data, and feedback to propose relevant innovations.
- Scout for new technologies, packaging solutions, and health-oriented product trends.
Note: This scope emphasizes the dynamic and high-volume nature of the FMCG food manufacturing environment, requiring agility, speed, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
