POSITION : Specialist, SSHE Operations & Project Support (Health)

REPORTING TO : Head of SSHE Operations and Project Support

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT : PLS / PLS/S

LOCATION : Kuala Lumpur, MY

**2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Execution of health-related activities and programs as planned, track implementation, follow up and close out of these activities.
- Performs and document health risk assessments and radiation safety assessments to identify and analyze workplace hazards, propose and implement measures to prevent release of hazard and mitigate effects of exposure.
- Design and implement hygiene and health programs and evaluate and monitor all data to ensure absence of exposure to any hazardous materials and recommend solutions for same.
- Inspects and evaluates work operations and engineering controls to determine potential contaminant, emission and radiation sources or related health hazards associated with workplace conditions.
- Conducts investigations of working conditions in places of employment for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards, with specific reference to toxic substances, noise, and harmful physical agents
- Review investigation findings and industrial hygiene reports e.g., health risk assessments, exposure monitoring reports, and monitor same and recommend changes if required and develop appropriate work procedures to ensure absence of any occupational health hazard.
- Consult with occupational health doctor and support implementation of medical surveillance programs to identify onset of occupational illness.
- Consults with relevant stakeholders regarding industrial health issues and solutions.
- Monitor all regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to all new regulations and ensure adherence to all safety and health regulations.

**3. KEY AUTHORITIES**:

- Receive strategic direction and guidance from Head of SSHE Operations and Project Support but works independently on assigned tasks.

**4. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Shared responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all persons at any PTTEP site, including staff, contractors and visitors and for local environmental safety.
- As SSHE personnel on duty, follow up on all accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences. Ensure initial information is complete and accurate and incident released on timely manner. Initial Notification Form for submission to COMCEN is prepared as per PPGUA reporting matrix.

**5. WORKING RELATIONSHIP**:

- All levels of organization; not limited to managers, engineers & contractors
- MPM, PCSB and PETRONAS as required
- DOSH, DOE and other relevant Government Agencies as required

**6. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor’s degree, in industrial hygiene, environmental health, nursing, occupational safety and health or equivalent.
- 10 years working experience and 3 years’ experience in protection and improvement of the industrial health environment and prevention of occupational diseases in oil & gas industry.
- Proactive and motivated.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong auditing, organizing and project management skills.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Valid BOSET / HUET training.
- Fluent in oral & written English.
- Familiarity with Malaysian Acts and Regulations.
- Certification in industrial hygiene or occupational health or equivalent will be advantageous.
- Registration as Competent Person with Department of Occupational Safety and Health will be advantageous.
