Supplier Development Director

**About Our Client**

Our client is a manufacturer of semiconductor equipment, offering a range of products and services. The company specializes in providing semiconductor test and inspection handlers, micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) test modules, semiconductor automated test equipment, test subcontractors, and thermal subsystems. Their product line extends to encompass test handling systems, PCB test systems, inspection and metrology tools, data analytics solutions, interface products, as well as spare parts and kits tailored for the semiconductor industry.

Catering to diverse markets, including automotive, computing and network, consumer electronics, mobility, industrial and medical sectors, IoT/IoV (Internet of Things/Internet of Vehicles), and optoelectronics, the company has established a significant business presence in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Own supplier evaluation criteria and scoring. Criteria should establish suppliers ability to meet Quality, delivery and cost needs.
- Drive new supplier selection with a disciplined and robust qualification process.
- Develop and grow a high-level engineering team that can partner with our supply chain to improve capability and quality of the suppliers.
- Align capabilities of suppliers to needs of products.
- High level problem solving for gaps in capability or quality with suppliers and the ability to drive improvement projects utilizing Lean/TPS methodologies, Six Sigma scorecards and assessments.
- Direct the activities of the Supplier Quality Engineers in Asia and partner with members of the rest of the worldwide Quality team engage the supplier base and drive improvements.
- Utilize deep experience with Six Sigma, Lean/ Toyota Production System and engineering experience to evaluate organizational capability and areas of improvement.
- Track the supplier’s performance indicators, based on their scorecards and rankings, to facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed company’s needs.
- Support the manufacturing of complex parts and sub-assemblies by providing technical expertise and support for suppliers.
- Review manufacturing processes to ensure they will yield parts compliant to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Create and participate in PFMEA activities, Work Instruction Improvements, and Control Plan effectiveness with suppliers.
- Drive improvements utilizing Six Sigma methodologies, Lean/TPS methods, supplier scorecards and supplier assessments.
- Execute Supplier Development Engineering Playbook and Create a strategic improvement plan at each key supplier.
- Drive cross functional engagement to remove roadblocks necessary to improve supplier performance.
- Eliminate any risks that will prevent suppliers from meeting performance targets and escalate as needed.

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- BS in Engineering
- Experience with leading improvements with suppliers.
- Typically 8-10 years of relevant experience. Experience in industrial equipment, automotive, semiconductor or medical manufacturing environment prefered.
- Experience in leading teams at multiple sites, preferably in a global corporation.
- At least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Experience with Six Sigma. Black belt is preferred.
- Experience with Lean or the Toyota Production system. Certification preferred.
- Experience with machining, plating and/or assembly processes preferred.
- Knowledge of using Six sigma / quality Tools and APQP (PFMEA, Control plan, SPC MSA etc.)
- Experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Business management or Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of leadership.
- Proven problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret business performance and financial data, define actions, and implement solutions.
- Able to read technical drawings and documentation (GD&T) is prefered
- Experience on performing production readiness & rate readiness reviews / assessments.
- Effective collaboration skills to motivate and influence others at various levels without a direct reporting relationship.
- Experience on working with global suppliers / customers.

Basic Salary: MYR18,000 - MYR29,000 per month
