**Position Purpose**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Country Finance Lead to oversee all financial operations in Malaysia This role is critical to ensuring financial compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with both local regulations and global organisational standards.
As the Country Finance Lead, you, together with the support of your team, will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, providing financial insights, driving cost management to achieve the organization’s objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Financial Controllership
- Oversee all financial operations, safeguard all assets of the company and generate accurate, timely financial reports (both statutory and management).
- Adhere to market and group reporting timelines
- Managing interactions with auditors and tax agents
- Ensuring timely filling of all statutory reporting
- Conduct regular reviews of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy, compliance to all accounting standards and policies. This role will be supported by a shared service center team.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide rolling forecasts to adapt to changes in the business environment.
- Participate in the S&OP process to ensure robustness of forecasts.
- Articulate commercial and financial risks and opportunities; partner with Functional Heads to review profitability estimates, explore and realise opportunities, and mitigate risks.
- Lead ad hoc analysis as and when required, this includes preparation of business cases to support investments in boutiques, etc.
- Role will require an ability to work independent and drive changes in line with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions.
Treasury
- Monitor cash position via tight cashflow management and forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Driving early conversations and actions to ensure sufficient funding either internally or externally, working closely with the group Treasurer.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensuring a strong controls environment to mitigate risks.
- Setting the “tone at the top” in all controls related matters.
Leadership, People Development
- Ability to lead and develop the finance team is a must.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA preferred).
- Strong understanding of IFRS/MFRS, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams. Will need to have managed a decent-sized team.
- Have good interpersonal skills and an ability to drive tasks to completion
- Experience in using SAP Accounting software is a plus but not a must.
