**Reports To**: Accounting Manager
**Job Summary**:
The Accounting Associate will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the consulting firm, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health and strategic decision-making of the business. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks, assisting with financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Financial Record Management**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process and verify invoices, expense claims, and payment requests efficiently and accurately.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Handle full set of accounts, up to the balance sheet.
- **Reporting and Analysis**:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Support financial analysis and provide insights to aid business decisions.
- **Compliance and Taxation**:
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of SST returns and other statutory filings (e.g., EPF, SOCSO, EIS).
- Assist with tax computation and liaise with tax agents as required.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS/FRS) and relevant tax laws.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation.
- **Process Improvement**:
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
- Assist in implementing and optimizing accounting software and systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, AutoCount).
- **Ad-hoc Duties**:
- Perform other accounting, finance, and administrative duties as assigned by superiors.
- Support audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business Studies, or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA student/affiliate).
- Preferably 1-2 years of relevant working experience in an accounting role; fresh graduates with strong academic records and internships are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, AutoCount) is an added advantage.

- **Attention to Detail and Accuracy**: Meticulous and highly accurate in processing financial information and maintaining records.
- **Excellent Communication Skills**: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to colleagues. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential, and Mandarin may be an advantage for specific client portfolios.
